Wind energy has become a pivotal component of sustainable power generation, with increasing demand for innovative and robust foundation designs for wind turbine generators (WTGs), particularly in soft soil conditions. Optimizing these foundations is crucial to ensuring stability, longevity, and cost-effectiveness. The use of stone column-improved soft soils has emerged as an effective solution in supporting these foundations, offering improved load-bearing capacities, minimized settlement, and enhanced rotational stiffness. This webinar will explore the geotechnical intricacies involved in wind turbine foundation design and demonstrate how PLAXIS 3D can be leveraged for advanced analysis and optimization.

What you will learn:

  • Wind Turbine Foundation Design Path
  • Geotechnical Design Parameters (Low & High Strain)
  • Rotational Stiffness and Gapping Conditions
  • Wind Turbine Foundation’s Effective Loading Area
  • PLAXIS 3D Geometry of WTG Foundation with Stone Column, Total Deformation, Principal Stresses
